2023 Giro d’Italia generated €2 billion of direct and oblique income



The 2023 Giro d’Italia generated direct and oblique income of €2 billion based on analysis and a survey carried out by Banca Ifis, an Italian financial institution that specialises in serving to small and medium sized Italian firms.

The analysis, seen by Cyclingnews and introduced on the latest Competition dello Sport organised by La Gazzetta dello Sport, revealed that €605 million of income was derived from the instant impression produced by the spectators attending the Corsa rosa in the course of the three weeks of the race. An additional €15 million was spent by race organisers RCS Sport, sponsors and the groups in the course of the three weeks of the race.
