Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl-Trek) gained in a dominant vogue the second version of the Maryland Biking Basic in Baltimore on Sunday. The Danish champion attacked a five-rider entrance group inside two laps to go and crossed the road with over two minutes on the chase group.
Neilson Powless (EF Schooling-EasyPost) launched his dash with 200 meters to go to take second, forward of Hugo Houle (Israel-Premier Tech), in third.
Displaying good group techniques, Skjelmose waited for his second to make his transfer and go away behind a gaggle that included his teammate Toms Skujiņš, Lucas Hamilton (Jayco-AlUla), Houle and Powless.
Hamilton completed fourth and Skujiņš held on for fifth.
