Sibiu Biking Tour: Donovan wins total



Marceli Boguslawski (Alpecin-Deceuninch Growth) set the quickest time on the quick stage4b time trial to win the second half of double-stage day on the cobbled streets of Sibiu, Romania.  Beginning fifteenth within the 124-rider discipline, Boguslawski clocked 4:19 on the three.3km flat stage and settled in comfortably within the scorching seat to look at and wait to see if his time would maintain.

Winner of the half-stage earlier as we speak, Sam Bennett (Bora-Hansgrohe) completed second, one second slower than the winner and Tomáš Kopecký (TdT-Unibet) was third.

The epilogue delivered a shake-up of the overall classification with Mark Donovan taking the general of the Sibiu Biking Tour. Second total with a slim two-second deficit going into the ultimate stage, Donovan completed fifth on the stage and gained the four-day, five-stage Romanian race. The 24-year-old Brit claimed his first victory as an expert and the primary stage race victory for the Q36.5 Professional Biking Workforce.

Lennert van Eetvelt (Lotto Dstny) completed second, eight seconds in arrear within the remaining normal classification and Jakub Otruba (ATT Investments), third at 12 seconds from the winner. Donovan’s teammate Matteo Badilatti, who was main earlier than the ultimate time trial, dropped to fourth total.
