Tour de Suisse Girls: Reusser secures general title as teammate Fischer-Black scores stage 4 victory


Marlen Reusser (Workforce SD Worx) gained the general title of the Tour de Suisse Girls on Tuesday whereas her teammate Niamh Fisher-Black scored the dash victory for stage 4.

Reusser fought to defend her yellow jersey on the ultimate stage as Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon-SRAM) went on a 50-kilometre long-range assault and took the digital lead. Reusser went on a solo chase whereas Fisher-Black stayed with Niewiadoma.

Fisher-Black outsprinted Niewiadoma to win the ultimate stage, whereas Reusser lowered the deficit sufficient with a third-place end on the stage to defend her GC lead.

Demi Vollering (Workforce SD Worx) gained the dash of a small group to complete fourth on the day and second general. Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo) had labored exhausting to cut back the hole to Niewiadoma and succeeded in defending her third place in GC by seven seconds.
