Vuelta opening TTT stage marred by a number of crashes in treacherous racing situations

A theoretically easy opening workforce time trial for the 2023 Vuelta a España on Saturday ended up being marred by depressing racing situations that noticed a number of mass crashes, and a primary abandon lower than 10 kilometres into the stage.

Ineos Grenadiers climber Laurens De Plus fell closely early on his workforce’s journey on the 14.8 kilometre course, and after struggling to get again on his bike, was evacuated from the race in an ambulance for additional evaluation of his accidents. Official race experiences later mentioned he had injured his pelvis.
